D day looms for a decision by all 72 Councillors in North Yorkshire County County Council on whether to “approve” the building of a huge waste incinerator at Allerton Park. The planning of this project has now lasted for years but do not hold your breath, unlike the Scottish referendum it will not be a nail biting finish. With an overwhelming majority of Conservative Councillors the outcome is not in doubt regardless of what opponents such as we the Liberal Democrats and other opposition councillors do! The decision will be taken at an Extraordinary Meeting of the Council to be held at 1400hrs 24 September 2014.
